AKKORK IS A Full Member of ENQA22.03.15

On March 6, 2015 the Board of Directors of the European Association for Quality Assurance in Higher Education (ENQA) decided on full membership of the Agency for Higher Education Quality Assurance and Career Development (AKKORK) in ENQA.

Full Membership of ENQA is composed of European quality assurance agencies or other quality assurance organizations in the field of higher education that have been operating and conducting actual quality assurance activities for at least two years.

Full Members meet all ENQA membership criteria and thereby also meet the European Standards and Guidelines for Quality Assurance in the European Higher Education Area (ESG) as adopted by the European Ministers in charge of higher education in Bergen in 2005.

According to Sergey Anisimov, Director General of AKKORK, "Acceptance of the Agency for Higher Education Quality Assurance and Career Development ENQA as a full member confirms to the full extent the independence and integrity of our agency. In addition, it is also the recognition that the activities of AKKORK meet the mission and core objectives of ENQA, standards and recommendations in the field of quality assurance, requirements for accreditation agencies in the European space (ESG-ENQA)".

The European Association for Quality Assurance in Higher Education (ENQA) is an umbrella organization which represents its members at the European level and internationally, especially in political decision making processes and in co-operations with stakeholder organizations.

The Association aims to maintain and enhance the quality of European higher education at a high level, and to act as a major driving force for the development of quality assurance across all the Bologna signatory countries.

ENQA contributes to this goal especially by promoting European co-operation in the field of quality assurance in higher education and disseminating information and expertise among its members and towards stakeholders in order to develop and share good practice and to foster the European dimension of quality assurance.
