The notable increase in the number of educational institutions whishing to conduct professional assessment of quality assurance and to use its positive outcomes with the aim to enhance their competitiveness in the educational market, intends to expand the database of AKKORK experts. On the 26th and 26th of March, 2010 AKKORK held another training session for experts in Novosibirsk on the basis of the regional office in the Siberian Federal District. Candidates had been approved by the expert members of the AKKORK Supreme Council, regional office of AKKORK in the Siberian Federal District and the board of rectors. 30 experts, representing the leading educational institutions of the region, passed the training programme, which included expert review of both Russian and international experience in the accreditation of educational institutions; approach of AKKORK to quality assurance of higher and secondary voluntary education; normative documents governing the complete process of assessment. There had also been examined several ways of interaction of state and socio-professional methods of educational quality assessment system. After graduation expert candidates must perform within 2 weeks an independent examination of one of the educational institutions, issuing their own report on the assessed study programme. The works are estimated by the Commission, composed of the members of the Supreme Council of experts and AKKORK senior officials. In case of a positive decision, the candidate receives a certificate which entitles him to sign a contract with AKKORK and participate in the external quality assessment and assurance of education, conducted by the agency.
