AKKORK IS INCLUDED IN THE REGISTER OF THE MINISTRY OF SCIENCE AND HIGHER EDUCATION OF THE RUSSIAN FEDERATION 06.09.21
On 03.09.2021 Agency for Quality Assurance in Higher Education and Career Development (AKKORK) was included in the Register of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation of organizations conducting professional-public accreditation of educational programmes of higher education and (or) additional professional programmes.
Professional – public accreditation is one of the directions of independent assessment of the education quality, through which reviewers can assess the compliance of the programme graduates training with the demands of the labor market. In addition, professional – public accreditation is an effective tool for improving the education quality, since universities have the opportunity to obtain objective information about the compliance of the educational programmes with professional standards, the demand for the programme in the labor market and the quality of its implementation.
Note that the results of the professional – public accreditation are also considered during state accreditation. In accordance with the Order of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation dated 03.04.2020 № 550 about the competition for the budget places distribution among the universities the availability of professional-public accreditation for the relevant enlarged groups of specialties and directions is one of the selection criteria.
AKKORK has been carrying out professional – public accreditation procedure for many years. Together with such employers' associations as: Association of Russian Managers, Russian Engineering Union, Association ERA Rossii, Association of Geological organizations, Association of Producers of Computer and IT Technics AKKORK has successfully completed more than 150 projects.
Inclusion in the Register of the RF Ministry of Science and Higher Education opens new opportunities for AKKORK and the implementation of the professional – public accreditation projects in Russian universities according to an expanded list of training directions. Starting from the 2021-2022 academic year, the decision on professional – public accreditation will be made both by the professional qualification councils and employers' associations – partners of AKKORK, and in special cases the Interdisciplinary Accreditation Council of AKKORK, which will carry out its activities along with the International Accreditation Council.
For carrying out the professional – public accreditation AKKORK uses an approach based on:
- standards and criteria for state accreditation;
- standards and criteria of employers' associations;
- international standards of best practices (GGP INQAAHE);
- European standards and guidelines for quality assurance in higher education (ESG).
